Barn Party Day

It was a good day for me! My pain level was at its lowest in a long time and we were able to walk a lot further today than any day this summer. We walked on a part of the golf course path that we hadn't ever been on and discovered that two paths joined together that we didn't realize. We'd been walking on both ends of the path, but had turned around before discovering that they joined because we didn't know how far we would have to walk to get back to our starting point. Tomorrow we'll try another path to see if it also joins up with one we've walked on before. It felt good to walk, hardly any hip pain! I started taking gelatin again about a month ago and I'm wondering if that is the reason I'm feeling better.

The path we walked on this morning.

Early morning at the barn.

Valerie brought her new puppy, Pippin, in today for us to meet. She lost her dog this summer due to old age and found this puppy online. She ended up having to fly to South Carolina to get her, a fast one day flight. She is an adorable little thing, part poodle and part something else, can't remember for sure what.

After the barn closed we had our birthday celebration for John with a big meal. Dennis and Peggy brought smoked brisket, potato salad, smoked sausage and beans, wow, was it good. John made dutch oven peach cobbler and everyone brought something to add to the meal. Cam made the center piece and during the meal announced that it was to be a door prize and the person with the sticker on the bottom of their plate got the center piece. I'd been admiring it earlier in the day was was surprised and so happy to discover that I had the sticker!! Yipee!

After supper we went grocery shopping and watched a movie.
