The day before the festival and Car Show

As we made the drive to Pinetop this morning, I thought how it is the last time we will be driving to the Art Barn this year. After 4 months of making this drive almost every weekend, I will miss it. The first signs of fall are appearing, the tips of some of the quakies are turning yellow and the ferns along the road are brown and dead and lots of the yellow flowers are finished blooming.

Some of the festival outside people set up today, but we didn't have many people in. I saw lots of cool cars driving onto the driving range where the Run to the Pines Car show will be starting tomorrow. John is working on a commission, a portrait of a customer's two Cocker Spaniels.

Val and Don were gone when we took the group photo of the Art Barn artists, so I shot this cute shot of the two of them today.

John put up the signs this evening and we were going down the road while the car parade was going up, so we got to see lots of neat cars.

After we got the signs up, we went and checked out the Fall Festival on Woodland Road, lots of vendors there, they had 4 rows of them! Lots of food vendors, too. Looks like that should be a good festival for them. We stopped in at a painters booth and while looking at his art, I recognized a painting that I bought at an art barn festival maybe 8 or 9 years ago! I never did meet the artist back then, he was gone from his booth and a neighboring artist made the sale for him. He is very nice and offered to help John find shows next year. He's been doing shows for 30 years, so should be a big help! As we were walking out, the lights went out, glad we were almost to the parking lot, it was dark! They were still out when we left, hope they figured out the problem!
