Happy 100th Birthday Arizona!

Today is the 100th anniversary of Arizona becoming a state. Wow, I've been an Arizonan more than half of that time!

7:10 am, clouds are building
Marc Zebell called John last night to let him know that artists are starting to sign up and hang their art at the old school so he could get in on it if he wanted to.   John went down and signed up for a space this morning. They are finished with the restoration of the building and it is the new home of The Chamber of Commerce. They moved the Casa Malpais museum and the Cushman museum into the building, plus one room is a memorial to the Becker family with memorabilia.  The hall will be a gallery for local artists! Cool!

The storm is heading towards us!
John and I visited Marc Zebell's studio this morning. He's having him to make a frame for Cochise, one of his scratchboards, which he is going to hang at the old school.  Marc has got some cool frames and photos!  When we left there we rode up Water Canyon Road a bit and I got a photo of a windmill in the snow.

It's snowing on Eagar Main St.

After, we stopped in at the library to get one of John's scratchboards that is on display there, the big pueblo one, to hang at the old school. Most of his scratchboards are at the library and the Casbah.  While we were at the library, the librarians invited us to come back this evening for their birthday party for Arizona.  Sounds like fun!

We had a Valentine's Day date for lunch at TrailRiders.  Last year they had the restaurant all decorated for Valentine's day with balloons and flowers at each table, this year, there were no decorations. :-((  But, the food was still good!

John had a chili burger for lunch, I had a bowl of red chili.
This evening we went to the library to a birthday party for Arizona and watched a video about our area.  It was pretty cool!

It was a cold day, snowed off and on all day, at one point we had big flakes and I thought we'd get some on the ground, but we never got much here at the house.  Other parts of town had a bit stick on the ground.

Eagar dressed up their welcome sign with hearts and Arizona flags for today.
