Continental Plaza Green Valley Show Opening Day

We got up early and got to our booth by 7 so we could finish setting up. We got to see a beautiful sunrise! It was a cold and breezy morning and only warmed up for a short time today.

I picked up the paper this morning, we wanted to see the article featuring John. Wow, 4 photos and a half page, mostly about John! John's wolves were in Alan's show ad, so he got double exposure today! Cool!


This evening we checked out some cool old cars that were parked in the shopping center after the show closed and checked email, then headed for the trailer. It had been warmed by the sun and was nice and toasty when we got there. First time I've been warm since we got here! I don't think I like winter shows, I thought we were going to leave winter behind and get warm, it just isn't happening! Here's my favorite of the old vehicles we saw.

On The Road

We left home this morning at 9:51 am, the temp was 24.4! Lots of last minute loading in the cold temps, things that would have frozen if loaded last night. I was amazed at the amount of snow still on the ground! There was snow until about 7 miles out of Globe!

We arrived in Green Valley about 4, waited for the time when we could set up the travel trailer, set it up, then went to the Continental Mall to set up our booth. Wow, are we slow! We started at and gave it up at 7:30, we were starving and it was COLD out and we were too tired and cold to finish up. We spent a cold night, it was so cold in the trailer, we never did get warm.

Cloudy, windy and cool

The sky looked like a storm was coming most of the day. It was breezy, too. We still have snow from the storm 12 days ago, hope we're not in for more!

Warming up a bit

The weather is a bit warmer and snow is starting to melt. Unfortunately, it is dripping right by our back door, making for an icy unsafe patch! John poured hot water on it and made a little ditch to help it run away from the door. Sure will be glad when the cold weather is over!

John and I had a bunch of dog fights on the wii this evening and my arm is so sore!!

Mom called Carbonite today and they do still have her data and the guy she talked to signed up back up for it and installed the program and started the data restore for her!! Yea, glad we didn't give up on it. I need to copy of her documents to the external, she has started on her life history and we didn't want to lose that! This time I'll get all the needed info for her on the carbonite subscription so we'll have it if this happens again! I went and wrote down all my info, I didn't have mine either! Whew! An online backup service is a good thing!

Dog Fights!

We decided to try out the dog fight in wii and have been having a blast, LOL! I mostly get whipped, but it's fun.

Sunny and cold today, the snow is really hanging around!

We ran down to St. Johns today. Andy came over to see if he could fix Mom's computer, it won't boot up, yikes! He found that something had corrupted the data and he had to do a restore on it. Thankfully Dell sent a restore disk with the computer!! She took us all out to eat at El Camino, yumm, we got a red chili fix! Andy was able to get the computer up and running. Unfortunately, that means all her data is lost. Thank goodness I got her photos off on the E-go drive! She had Carbonite so we thought it would be an easy restore, but apparently when she cancelled the phone package, that was dropped too. Andy tried reinstalling, but we don't have the needed pw, I tried doing an online chat, but didn't know enough missing data, so they wouldn't give it to me. Mom called the phone company and they said she'd have to sign up for a package again and they couldn't promise the data would still be there.

Another Doctor Appointment

John had an appointment with Dr. Tenney to get the casting done for his crown. It's been a long road for him to get to this point!

We played wii today, the Island Flyover game. John finished up getting all his 80 points for each time of day and now is popping balloons. I think he's getting addicted! I have 80 points in only the daylight. I was able to sneak in time to exercise on the wii while John was at the dentist. The exercises have things set on WuMu Island and I like those best. I biked around the course trying to get to things like the cave, but it has road blocks up and I couldn't go much out of town. Later John tried it and he liked to bike off into the ocean!

Show Low here we come!

John had an appointment with Dr. Shelton today to insert the post for his crown. He's all set now, tomorrow he gets a casting done and then a few weeks later the crown installed. We thought this would be the last time to see Dr. Shelton, but he wants to check up on him after the crown is in. He seems to be a very good doctor!

After we went shopping. Had a lot of different stores on the list, we got the stuff to hook up my computer speakers to John's internet radio, we can't find the right kind so I got adaptors. Maybe later we can spot some. Also got grout to repair the floor, and stuff we needed at Wal Mart. There is still lots of snow on the ground and as we went up the hill toward Pinetop it got deeper. We didn't go up that far, but they must have a lot left!

Cold Weather

We still have snow on the ground and although it's warmed up a lot from our low night of minus 19.5, it's still cold out and we don't spend much time outside. We've been playing on the wii, I have managed to fit in some time with the fitness program, boy does it leave me sore! My body is so stiff, I don't move my back much because of pain. Maybe this will help me work through it. John and I discovered the Island flyover game on the wii and have been having fun with it.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Mom turned 80 years young today! She looks and acts much younger and people often guess her age much less than she is. Carleen, Sandy, Gary, John and I celebrated by taking her out to eat at The Trailriders this evening. I had asked them if they could sing to her and they did and brought her out a piece of pie with a candle on it. It made the night more special for her. After we ate we came back here and I had gotten Coconut pies at her request, she didn't want a cake and asked for Coconut Cream. We had a good visit and John introduced Gary to the wii flyover game. Boy, it that game addictive! John has gotten his 80 points and now has a house on a private island. I'm still a few points away.

Day 2 and Cabin Fever

The low last night was only 7 below, lots warmer than the night before! John discovered that the water in the studio is frozen and he has been heating up the bathroom to thaw it. Some water trickled out this afternoon. Sure hope the pipes didn't burst!

We had cabin fever today and had to get out of the house for a bit. The roads are bad, still lots of snow and they were slippery! We drove out the highway to see where the smoke we could see was coming from. It was something on the old Ramsey property, we couldn't see through the smoke to see what was burning.


Carleen and Mom also had cabin fever and came up here. I got to babysit Ani while they went and ate. I tried to get some photos of her, but she's a hard one, she won't stay still.

Happy Frozen New Year!

Wow, the low last night was -19.5! When we went to bed it was already below zero, 6 below, I think. Cold, cold! We didn't make it to midnight, it's been a long time since we stayed up to greet the new year. The world was sparkly and cold this morning. We parked our vehicles in the garage before it snowed and haven't gone out since. The road in front of our house is a sheet of ice and frozen snow, so as long as we don't need to go out, we'll just stay home. We've got our own Nessie!

We played wii games today and discovered a fun flying game. You fly over an island called Wuhu, where all the other games in the Sports Resort take place and look for information circles telling what that landmark is. It's fun seeing where the games we have been playing are set on this group of imaginary islands. John has found almost all of the circles, I'm behind. I started the wii fitness program this morning, I only did a few of the many choices of workouts and I'm so sore!!

Day 365 Goodbye 2010!

Yea, I made it, 365 days of photos! It's a snowy world out today. We got a bit more snow during the day, but not much, just enough to put a light coating on what was there. I tried measuring, but with all the wind drifting the snow, it's impossible to tell how much we got. I measured from nothing to almost 16 inches! It's a cold world! We stayed home today, John worked a bit in the shop, but said it was too cold and spent most of the day inside.

Snow!

It was snowing when we got up this morning! Guess the 100% prediction was right for once. It's blizzard conditions right now, snow is blowing sideways and it's COLD out! I took this shot in between gusts.

Goodby Jessie

We packed up all Jessie's luggage and took her to St. Johns this morning to meet her Mom. Snow is predicted and we wanted her safely home before it hit!

We went to Mom's first so John could fix her stove and I could show her how to use the ego drive I gave her for Christmas. I got the photos all backed up for her while John fixed her stove and Jessie and John took down her tree.

Trish brought her cross country ski's down and left them at Mom's for Jessie. She had fun trying them on and "skiing" on the lawn.

It's sure quiet at our house this evening, this is the part I hate the most about holidays, when everyone is gone and the house is way too quiet!

Bye Trish and Sam

The skies were cloudy today and it looked like snow was falling on the hills around us. Trish and Sam decided to head out this morning hoping to miss the storm predicted for tomorrow. We're sad, we were looking forward to playing more wii with them tonight and having a birthday party to celebrate Mom's upcoming birthday.

John and Jessie painted together this morning. I love Jessie's painting, it's so colorful and fun! She painted a clown.

While John started a new sculpture, Jessie and I played games and watched another of her Christmas movies, Ice Age. It was a sad movie, but good.

A day of visiting

I witnessed something I have never seen this morning, Misty mad at Santana and paying him back for being mean to her! Go Misty! He's always biting her and I guess she got tired of it!

Sam, Trish, Carleen and Mom came up to visit today. We all met at Subway for lunch, then came here for a visit. Jessie had fun playing with Ani.

Trish and Sam stayed after Mom and Carleen left and we had fun playing wii games. I'm loving that we have everyone's wiimii in our games now, it will be fun to see them through the year as we play.

The Day After

Charles and Nikki this morning just before they left about 10:30. I always hate to see them leave! Our visit was way too short!

Jessie painted the boat bank she gave her Pa for Christmas.

And this evening she took us out to dinner at McDonald's using the card she got for Christmas. What a sweet girl to share with us!

Christmas Day

We had gorgeous weather today. Charles and Nikki came up and spent Christmas with us and Andy, Susan and the kids came over and spent some time with us, it was a good day!

Nikki loves the guitar she got! It was a surprise, she didn't know she was getting it.

I got a wii! Now I can exercise and get Netflix on the TV!

Sure glad Charles and Nikki were here to get the wii all hooked up for me!!

Christmas leftovers, all the packaging and pretty paper, kind of sad to see it all wadded up.
